STEP 4  If you use Google docs as word processor  

Add citations and a bibliography

  • Start a Google docs document
    • Click on [Add-on]
    • Choose [ProQuest/RefWorks > Manage citations]
    • Choose a source and click [Cite this];
      • The reference appears in the text
      • A bibliography is automatically created at the bottom
    • Repeat at other place in the text

 

 

Adjust the display of references and bibliography 

  • There are tens of thousands of styles! Just make your choice
     
    • Click on the gear icon in the Add-on
    • Click on [Change citation style]
    • Type the name of the desired style, for example
      • Vancouver: shows a serial number in the text and bibliography
      • Harvard: shows {author,year} in the text; references are alphabetically listed in the bibliography
      • the style of a specific Journal
    • Click on [Update document]
